Wednesday

We're half way through the week!!

We got a lie in today as Josh's treatment was mid morning so we didn't have to hurry over to proton! We were delighted to find that when we woke up this morning the flood water had gone down and the rain had finally stopped!!! What's more the sun is shining!!

When we got to proton we joined a couple of other English families in the waiting area. Today there was the resident artist who was doing rubber stamping crafts for adults & children as well as the "music lady" who was playing the piano for everyone.
When Josh went through for his treatment we went up to lunch bunch, it was another popular Wednesday upstairs. We enjoyed sandwiches, pasta and cookies with friends and listened to stories from alumni (proton patients from previous years back for check ups.) Our friends from Reading were able to join the graduates group as Brandon graduates from proton on Friday.

Josh's treatment took ages today so he was in there for about an hour. Once he came out we joined him in Dr Danny's office to discuss his side effects and progress. He has prescribed some different creams to try and take the pain out of Josh's back so we'll see if they work. He said he will catch up with us after the weekend to check how Josh's doing.

Afterwards we met with Amy (Josh's nurse) who said that they had decided to keep going with treatment and do the full 30 treatments. (We had been told that because of the side effects they'd stop at 20) but they have decided they need to do as many as possible to try and beat the tumor.

We then got some time to enjoy the sunshine on the beach before heading to Vino's pizza place with the other English families!

We're hoping for a quieter day tomorrow with less appointments!
