Day One of treatment

Joshua's treatment started on Tuesday at the Proton Centre.

University of Florida Proton Therapy Centre
We met with Dr Danny who is the professor overseeing Josh's case and he went through the scans with us and the treatment plan. It appears that the tumor is much larger and more aggressive than it was originally thought, meaning that he will need just over 6 weeks of treatment.

It was decided to try a different sedation medication today, which unfortunately made Josh vomit. This made his treatment take longer today, just over an hour, as he had very fidgety hands and feet!

The hope is that they will keep using less and less sedation so that in a couple of weeks he will be able to lie still without it.

Josh is hoping to take some photographs of the centre and treatment to share with you all, so look out for those over the coming days!
