Wednesday started with lots of phone calls and organsing as Josh had two appointments that clash today at different hospitals across different sides of the river! After many phone calls Josh's proton was moved to lunch time, and the appointment at Nemours was later then cancelled!
With proton treatment being around lunch time we were delighted to be able to attend lunch bunch which we also brought Rachel's parents to. We found it strange that we would only have one more lunch bunch left after today. Mitch reminded us that next week we would be attending as the parents of a proton graduate so we ought to start preparing our speech!!
Josh's treatment was very quick today as he lay much stiller than he had all week! We also got to have a chat with one of our therapists who informed us of just how much he had been wriggling over the past few days.
Whilst Josh was in treatment we had a chance to chat to a new family who have just arrived, they are treated at the same hospitals as Josh is in Manchester under the same doctors for a very similar tumor! It was lovely to have time to talk to someone who had experienced the same care and knew how we felt.
The rest of the day and evening was spent enjoying the sights of Jacksonville with Rachel's family. It felt quite sad and strange not to have our normal Wednesday night outing with the other English families as the majority have now gone back to England.
