So the day arrived for our final Wednesday lunch bunch! And we are very excited to report that we got out of giving a graduation speech as the whole lunch was taken over by a guest speaker!
We joined several of our friends as well as Josh's social worker and nurse to listen to the speaker who was speaking on spinal tumors. It was a very interesting talk, and we were all left feeling hopeful after another patient shared that she had just turned 50 despite being diagnosed with a spinal tumor at the age of 18 (the average survival rate is around 7 years after diagnosis) which was fantastic!
We then had tearful goodbyes with everyone at proton.
