We spent Thursday morning visiting the Budweiser factory with Rachel's family, we all found it interesting to have a look round and found it very amusing that Rachel's brother (who had wanted us all to do the tour) was too young to have a free drink! (The legal age for drinking in the USA is 21 not 18)
When we arrived at proton we found that the blue room (Josh's gantry) had a 30 minute delay on it which worked out better for Josh as he was asleep so got to stay asleep for longer. Josh had been sick and wasn't feeling very well and just wanted to sleep. Amy (Josh's nurse) came and checked Josh over to ensure he wasn't running a temperature and made sure that the staff at Nemours and Wolfson Children's hospitals were aware of Josh in case he felt any worse and needed to be admitted. His treatment took about 25 minutes to complete today, because Josh wasn't feeling awake or well enough he didn't go upstairs to choose a toy, so will have to select two on Friday!
Later Lonnie & Rachel attended family fun night at the proton institute, sadly Josh wasn't feeling well enough to attend. We met with a number of other families for food and conversation whilst the children played Disney bingo! There was another set of parents who attended alone as there child was also feeling too unwell to come. We were able to have a great chat with the new family that we met at the lunch yesterday and share our proton experiences with them as well as find out more about them.
